The Cleveland Browns have made some memorable draft picks. Here is a look at some of the best of their 4th round draft picks since 1999.

The NFL Draft, especially to Cleveland Browns fans, can definitely conjure up some bad memories (I won’t name names; we all know who I’m talking about). However, that doesn’t mean we haven’t seen some good picks over the years. I decided to take a deep dive into the Browns draft history to highlight some of the better picks, specifically in the fourth round.

Now, everyone knows the draft is hard to predict. We spend hours upon hours analyzing these athletes. We look at their film, we check their measurements, we drill them with questions about anything and everything they’ve ever known. And yet, somehow, good players always find a way to slip through the cracks. In fact, some of the NFL’s greatest ever were drafted late or not at all.

At first, I wasn’t sure how to measure the “best” fourth-round picks. Admittedly, I realized the bar had to be set somewhat low. The success rate of fourth-round picks already isn’t great and I had narrowed it down to a 19-year window.

I decided to base success on position-specific statistics, games started, and their tenure in Cleveland. The results may not be the flashiest, but I found 5 players that ranged from serviceable to the current “quarterback” of the Browns defense.

Hopefully, this serves as a reminder that talent can be found anywhere. Not just that, but also that talent may just be the ability to be a loyal and effective servant to your team. After all, this is a team sport, and the players I highlight were great team players above all else.
