814. . Offensive Tackle. Bulldogs . Andrew Thomas. 1. player

In my opinion, Andrew Thomas is the most complete offensive lineman in the draft. He’s consistent across the board, not having any deficiencies in his game. His size isn’t off the charts like some other offensive lineman, and Thomas has been sliding down some draft analysts boards for unknown reasons. The Browns have reportedly met with Andrew Thomas through a formal interview at the NFL combine.

Andrew Thomas has consistently been a first-round draft pick in mock drafts throughout the offseason, so the Browns likely view him as a first-round option. He will most likely not be available at the 41st pick, so if the Browns want him, they have to take him in the first round. If the Browns do decide to trade down slightly in the first, Thomas could for sure be an option, considering how much he has been falling on draft analysts big boards. Daniel Jeremiah had him ranked as the 21st overall prospect on his draft board.

Say a team like the Indianapolis Colts want to trade up for a quarterback, Cleveland could drop back to pick 13 and select Andrew Thomas. I would be completely okay with taking Andrew Thomas with the tenth pick, as I think in his rookie year he will be the best offensive lineman in his draft class.

The only knock on his draft stock is his potential, as his athletic testing numbers are very good, but don’t jump off the charts like Tristan Wirfs, and he doesn’t have the size of Mehki Becton to build the perfect offensive tackle. However, his 36 and one eighth inch arms, in my opinion, give him a huge boost, as it is extremely important at tackle to have long arms. In comparison, Mehki Becton’s arms are 35 and five-eighth inches.

If the Browns are looking to choose the best offensive lineman to add to their team right now with their first-round pick, then Andrew Thomas is your guy.

Josh Jones, in my opinion, is a realistic option for the Browns at the 41st pick. I believe he is a prospect that analysts may be higher on than actual teams, but that is just speculation. The Browns have reportedly had a formal interview with Josh Jones at the NFL Combine. In the film, Josh Jones has some areas where he could improve. His anchor can be bad at times, footwork can be a little sloppy, and his overall strength can be questionable at times.

With that being said, he is still an incredible talent. He dominated this past season for the Cougars, and PFF gave him the highest grade they’ve ever given a group of five offensive linemen.

He has the potential to be a pro-bowl offensive lineman and has good size. The Browns could look at Joshua Jones to be an option if they trade back to late in the first round, or even as an option at 41. I could see the Browns taking a shot on Jones with their second-round pick, even after drafting one in the first round. Snagging Jedrick Wills Jr and Joshua Jones would be an ideal scenario, as neither would have to switch sides, as Wills plays right tackle and Jones plays left.
