No. 2: Linebacker, Andra Davis (2002-2008)

With the 141st pick in the 2002 NFL Draft the Browns selected linebacker Andra Davis out of the University of Florida. Andra Davis went on to have a great career with the Cleveland Browns, lasting 7 seasons in Cleveland. Andra Davis would go on to play a whopping 105 games in a Cleveland Browns uniform, starting 83 of them.

According to Pro Football Reference, Andra Davis provided the 24th most value to the team that drafted him out of the entire 2002 NFL draft. Getting the 24th most value out of the 141st overall pick is quite a steal for the Cleveland Browns.

The only pick below him that got more value for their original team was defensive end Aaron Kampman, who was drafted by the Green Bay Packers with the 156th pick in the draft. Kampman was a two-time pro-bowler in his career. Davis was the absolute definition of a steal for the Browns.

Davis would be signed away by the Broncos after playing for the Browns, and after that would have a two-year stint with the Bills before his NFL career was over. It was a crime that Davis never made a pro bowl with the Browns, as he certainly had the numbers in at least 2003 and 2005 to be a pro bowl linebacker.

Davis would end his tenure with the Browns with a total of 642 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, 29 passes defended, 8.5 sacks, 8 interceptions, 8 quarterback hits, 4 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries. Considering that the players taken directly ahead and behind him played in a total of only 29 games total, I’d say Davis was a great pick.
