3. Andre King, WR, 2001

Andre King became a member of the Cleveland Browns in 2001 after playing for one of the best Miami Hurricane teams in recent memory. And while with Miami, the speedy wideout made quite the impression.

He became a vocal leader of the team and despite having just a four-year career in the NFL, he has proven even after his time in the pros that he knows football. A few years ago, Shanon Culiner of Canes Warning caught up with King before a Miami game against FSU and he touched on what King has done since his Miami days.

"“Furthermore, King had won Miami’s Dale Melching Leadership Award as a senior at UM, played in the NFL and now, he’s both the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director for Loganville Christian Academy in Georgia. King is a natural leader and had played on a great 2000 Miami team surrounded by star-studded players.” — Shanon Culiner, Canes Warning"

Part of what hurt such a promising young player in the NFL was his age. King was 28 as a rookie after trying his hand at pro baseball. He was in the minor leagues with the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves before making it to the Browns.

In his four seasons, he played in 45 games and had three starts. He never recorded a touchdown and finished with just 327 yards on 30 receptions but did a lot of that damage (11 catches for 149 yards) in his first season.

In addition to his work as a wideout, King had 701 yards on kickoff returns. The fact that he had such a role was a great return on investment for a seventh-round pick.
