1. Jim Brown, running back

Jim Brown was selected by the Browns in the first round of the 1957 NFL draft. Brown is absolutely the best draft choice Cleveland has ever and may ever make.

The former fullback is largely considered the greatest football player to ever play the game. He is the only running back in history to average over 100 yards for the entire course of his career.

Brown ranks 11th all-time in rushing despite only playing nine seasons. He averaged 5.2 yards per carry which ranks second all-time. He was truly unstoppable.

The powerful runner was a Pro Bowl selection for all nine of his seasons and a First-Team All-Pro for eight of those campaigns. He was also named league MVP three times.

Brown reached over 1,200 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns in seven of his nine seasons in the league. The most yards he had in a season was 1,863 in 1963, while the most touchdowns he had was in both 1958 and 1965 with 17.

Jim Brown is an absolute legend and Browns fans should feel grateful he was a Cleveland Brown. He is still a major part of the team and their activities and serves as an idol and mentor to the Browns’ players.

Brown is certainly the best draft pick for the Browns and perhaps the best pick ever. The five teams in front of the Browns in 1957 are surely regretting their decision. Thank you, Mr. Jim Brown.

Let’s hope for some more future success in the draft. Maybe the Browns find their next legend in April.
