LB. Scouting Report. LoganWilson. 903. Pick Analysis. Round 7. Pick 244. player

At pick No. 244 in the seventh and final round of this 2020 NFL Mock Draft, the Cleveland Browns make their final selection as they take Wyoming linebacker Logan Wilson. It’s clear at this point, there are many fans in the Dawg Pound that are beyond frustrated about the linebacker situation in Cleveland.

That’s because the team first let it be known that they won’t be re-signing Joe Schobert — a fan favorite who leads the team in tackles year after year. Then just weeks after that, they released Christian Kirksey, who along with guard Joel Bitonio, was the longest-tenured player on this team.

Both moves do make sense on the surface. Kirksey has struggled mightily with health whereas Schobert apparently wants to break the bank, which is something a team that has as many holes on defense should do for a linebacker.

And while it might feel like they should draft one earlier than here, the fact is they seem to have faith in Sione Takitaki and Mack Wilson to be the featured guys. They could also add more talent in free agency.

As for Wilson, he could be a late-round gem. He didn’t face elite talent in the Mountain-West but he proved to be an instinctive player with solid speed for the position. He could move from sideline-to-sideline and never had less than 94 tackles in his career for the Cowboys.

In all, he had 409 tackles, 34.5 for a loss, as well as seven sacks and 10 picks. He could become a contributor as long as the Browns are patient with him as he learns the speed of the pro game.
