Antonio Gandy-Golden, Liberty

Antonio Gandy-Golden is another prospect who could carve out a role as a possession receiver at the next level. He was an unranked recruit coming out of high school due to an injury, but that didn’t stop him from becoming a focal point for Liberty’s offense.

Gandy-Golden improved in each season as a member of the Flames and led the team with 1,396 yards his senior year (which ranked him fourth in the nation for yards). Personally, he’s one of my favorite late round receivers.

He is a fluid athlete who uses his agility and shiftiness to beat press coverage off the snap. He possesses great ball tracking skills and greatly improved his catch rate from his junior to senior year. When watching him one on one, he has an innate ability to catch outside his body and around corners. He can be thrown the ball in his space and be trusted to make a play.

Gandy-Golden will run into issues if a physical corner jams him at the line before he can wiggle out of trouble, so he will have to work on his physicality a bit, but he has the ability to improve in that area.

Overall, he has a lot to like in terms of ability and playing style. He received some early buzz as a high-end draft pick, but with the depth of the position he has dropped into the fifth and sixth rounds, which is right where the Browns can grab a receiver without feeling like they missed out on a position of higher need.
