Round No. 4, Pick No. 115: Tyler Biadasz, IOL Wisconsin

Remember when center Alex Mack broke his leg and the Browns 2014 campaign crashed to a halt?

Let’s not have history repeat itself.

Last season, the Browns gave J.C. Tretter a much-deserved extension, locking him up for 2020, 2021 and 2022. This offseason, the Browns signed center Evan Brown, who has only played three games in his two years in the NFL and was undrafted out of SMU, where he also played offensive guard.

Biadasz is this draft’s top center after playing three very dominant seasons at Wisconsin. A starter of 41 straight games for the Badgers, Biadasz comes from a program that continually produces top-tier offensive line talent. He would provide a powerful run blocker for Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt as well as a wall in pass blocking to keep Baker Mayfield upright.

Biadasz could serve as the apparent heir to Tretter’s throne in 2021 when the Browns have a way out of Tretter’s big contract.

The medicals will be important for Biadasz, who had shoulder surgery in 2020 and hip surgery in 2019. His only other flaw was a rough game against Ohio State’s defensive line in 2019. If building a fencer around Mayfield is the goal for 2020 and beyond, Biadasz could help that cause.
