TRADE ALERT – Cleveland Browns

Jedrick Wills Jr.. 14. player. 829. . Offensive Tackle. Crimson Tide

While Browns fans want the team to be tempted to trade up for Isaiah Simmons, trading back in this scenario would be a huge win. With Greg Robinson out of the picture, it is imperative that the Browns get a starting-caliber left tackle. They get that with the All-American Jedrick Wills Jr. from Alabama.

Wills is rated by many as the top tackle prospect. However being a right tackle and slightly undersized at 6-foot-4 and 312 pounds, it could make him the last of the four top tackles taken. Wills also has a shorter reach with only 34.25 inch arm length, but he makes up for all these downfalls with tremendous quickness and powerful hips.

For the Browns to be able to trade back and still land one of the top-four tackles is huge. The Browns will likely receive an additional second- or third-round pick from Tampa Bay and look to add depth on defense with the additional pick. The Browns must be careful to not trade back too far, or they will end up having to pick Josh Jones from Houston, Austin Jackson from USC or Ezra Cleveland from Boise St. who all have potential but may not be ready to start year one in the NFL.

Keep in mind, for the Browns to reasonably get Simmons they would have to trade their 2020 first- and second-round pick, as well as likely their 2021 second-round pick to get in the top-five. There are too many holes on this roster right now to take that risk. If this scenario plays out, it is another home run for Andrew Berry, with the only downside being Wills must transition from right to left tackle.
