Honorable Mention: November 10th, 2019. Buffalo Bills @ Cleveland Browns, Browns win 19-16

The Browns walked into this game at an underwhelming 3-6, facing a 6-3 Buffalo Bills squad with a top-three defense in the NFL. The Bills defense gave up an average of just 16.2 points per game in 2019, which is an insane number in today’s high paced NFL. The Browns had their hands full with the Buffalo Bills, and quarterback Baker Mayfield showed up ready to play.

Mayfield would help the Browns win this game by completing 26 of his 38 passing attempts, a solid 68.4 percent of his passes, for 238 yards and two touchdowns. Most people remember this game for the Browns woes on the goal line, as they had eight straight plays from the one-yard line and couldn’t score.

People don’t remember how well Baker played. He was able to connect with Jarvis Landry on a 17-yard touchdown in the first quarter to give the team a seven to nothing lead.

Later in the fourth quarter, with a minute and 44 seconds left on the clock, Baker was then able to find wide receiver Rashard Higgins for a seven-yard touchdown, giving the Browns a three-point lead after Austin Seibert nailed the extra point.

Games like this are the type of performances that the Browns need to see out of Baker moving forward. The team wasn’t able to put up a lot of points on the board, but the defense played well, and Baker was able to do just enough to win.
