3. Browns at Oakland Raiders – Sept. 30, 2018

This was Nick Chubb’s break out party. In a game where Chubb only got three carries, he showed he was the running back of the future and why the Browns spent the 33rd pick on the Georgia back.

Chubb finished the game with three rushes for 105 yards and two touchdowns. His home run ability was on display here. He had a touchdown run from 63 yards out in the first half and added another from 41 yards in the second half. He averaged a ridiculous 35 yards a carry.

He had 23 more yards than lead back Carlos Hyde on 19 fewer carries. This opened the door for Chubb, as his showing led to the Browns trading Carlos Hyde just two weeks later. Chubb then went on to get the bulk of the Browns’ carries the rest of the season, and rightfully so.

Against the Raiders he showed how difficult he is to be tackled by one defender as he broke several tackles. Perhaps the most impressive thing in that game was his speed. Once he hit the secondary, he could not be caught and ran away from the defense. What a great game for Chubb that led to the start of a great of his career.
