The NFL draft is here. With rumors flying there is more speculation than ever on who will fall and who will rise.  Can the Cleveland Browns get their guy?

Draft day is finally here, and after reported complications with virtual mock drafts from teams, let’s hope no one suffers from IT complications on draft night. With a computer science degree from Harvard, Andrew Berry and the Cleveland Browns should be as equipped as any general manager to be successful in a virtual draft.

The NFL draft will bring the first real sports moment in over six weeks with the cancelation of the Masters, March Madness in between. Let’s not forget NBA, NHL and MLB seasons have also been put on hold with no clear outlook on resumption.

It seems selfish for the NFL to relish views from a pandemic like COVID-19, but sports fans need something to look forward to. Expect the ratings for this draft to be through the roof, like ESPN’s 30 for 30 “The Last Dance” featuring Michael Jordan.

In the past, there have always been a fair amount of trades, even in the top-10 picks of the draft. If teams fear poor communication, will that limit the number of trades teams finalize in 2020? Let’s no forget about the “missing fax” to the NFL that nullified the Browns attempt to trade for A.J. McCarron in the 2017 season from the Cincinnati Bengals.

Truthfully, most Browns fans are hoping that poor communication will limit trades and that Berry will just stay put at pick No. 10 and take the best available offensive tackle. Others want to see the Browns trade back in the first round and continue to accrue young talent on the defensive. One thing’s for sure, there is no scenario where all fans are happy.

Last weekend we dove into the first-round selections based on needs and no trades. Now that draft day is here, let’s look at teams who will look to jump ahead or back in the draft, as well as some who won’t be able to pass up on temptations.
