The Cleveland Browns hold the number ten pick in the NFL draft. But the most exciting part of the draft will be sorely missed, the Red Carpet outfits.

The Cleveland Browns will have to make their first-round pick without evaluating their outfits on the red carpet. The Red Carpet outfits were a serious consideration, for some fans, on the draft ability of the player.

The NFL egregiously decided to cancel this year’s Red Carpet event when it decided to cancel the draft festivities in Las Vegas. Instead, there will be a Draft-a-Thon.

There were elaborate plans for this year’s red carpet. The players were to be ferried by boat to an artificial stage constructed on the Fountains of the Bellagio. This elaborate scene surely would have brought out the crazy fashions.

The red carpet is a personal favorite tradition. Regularly, potential draftees will walk on the red carpet with ridiculous outfits. They will often be interviewed and say outrageous things. So missing this year’s red carpet leaves a large hole in my heart. So, to assuage my sorrow, let’s review the good, the eccentric, and the ugly from red carpets past.

The Good

Danny Shelton wears a lava lava

Danny Shelton showed his Samoan roots by wearing a lava lava which he subsequently sold on his personal website. Even former Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas wore the lava lava on his social media show. Shelton’s family were all coordinated making them a perfect ensemble costume.

Deshaun Watson’s shoes

Deshaun Watson showed up the Red Carpet dressed sharply. But the accessory that topped them all was the shoes. Oh, the shoes!

The Eccentric

Deandre Baker steals MC Esher’s suit

Deandre Baker looked like he just stepped out of an M.C. Esher painting. The pattern on the suit leaves you wondering which way is up or down.

Ezekiel Elliot wears half a shirt

Now Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot showed up to the draft with half a shirt on. I guess he felt showing off the abs that helped him win the 2015 National Championship would help his draft status.

The Ugly

Devin Bush dresses up as Michael Jackson

Devin Bush looked like something straight out of a Michael Jackson video. His play has been a thriller. And Bush always be startin’ something on defense.

Lamar Jackson goes full Leprechaun

Oh yes he did! Lamar Jackson showed up to the Red Carpet dressed as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish leprechaun. Defenders try to steal his lucky charms, but his play was magically delicious earning the 2019 NFL MVP award.
