Grant Delpit 6-foot-2, 213 pounds — Rookie

Grant Delpit is yet another great safety from LSU is taken in the early rounds of the draft and he just happened to catch the liking of the Browns this offseason. The recent Jim Thorpe winner (best college safety) cemented his place as an LSU great by being a consensus all-American in 2018 and 2019 and having the most interceptions in the SEC conference in 2018 as well.

Delpit started all three years as a Tiger and did not disappoint. He racked up 199 total tackles in his three seasons and had eight interceptions to go along with it.

2018 was his best year in college as he had 74 total tackles, five sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery, and five interceptions. 2019 he dealt with a high ankle injury and his stats dropped slightly. He had only two interceptions last year along with 65 total tackles.

If we are being honest here, if the Browns can get 2018 Delpit, this rookie will prove to be a home run pick. Many have him compared to Jamal Adams as well. Delpit does have the frame and speed to roam around the field as he pleases.

His cover skills are solid and he has a lot of power with his hits. Delpit played extremely well during the end of this last college football season and if he can translate his play to the NFL, Brown’s fans will be in for a treat watching him play.
