3 bold predictions for the Cleveland Browns offense in 2020

Nick Chubb wins the NFL rushing title
After finishing second in rushing last season, Chubb winning the rushing title in 2020 may not be considered a bold prediction by some. However, rushing for 1,400 plus yards in back to back seasons is a huge task and would be a tremendous accomplishment.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski brings his wide scheme zone to Cleveland which is a perfect fit for Chubb. Although riddled with injuries to begin his career, Dalvin Cook had a pro-bowl season with Stefanski last year with the Minnesota Vikings.
With the upgrades this offseason, the Browns will have a better offensive line, and arguably a better running back to execute the scheme even better.
With Kareem Hunt on the roster as the second running back, Chubb could lose a few carries here and there, but in today’s game, there aren’t many teams that rely on just one running back. With 1,494 yards in 2019 Chubb was the lone bright spot. The yardage had the potential to be even higher, but so often the Browns were forced to throw from being behind or were in third and long from incompletions on first and second down.
Chubb lets his work on the field do the talking, and it’s tough not to love the guy. In an offense that will feature him, look for a career year out of the young man. I would expect 325 plus carries with 1,600 plus yards and 15 touchdowns for Chubb next season.
With the Browns finally able to play ahead in a few games, that big offensive line is going to lean on teams and wear them out. Chubb who continues to get stronger with more carries will bust a few long ones in the fourth quarter to pad his stats even more.
10 to 15 years ago a season like this would have earned Chubb MVP of the league, but with 5,000-yard passers each year it is unlikely a running back to come away with the award. There have been only been two running backs to come away with the MVP title in the last 14 seasons.
