Ranking the 10 best Cleveland Browns on the current roster
By Greg Newland

No. 4 – Austin Hooper
Free-agent tight end, Austin Hooper, signed with the Browns this offseason after four tremendous years with the Atlanta Falcons who drafted him in the third round. Hooper is a rare bread tight end that can do all three phases of the game; block, catch and run.
What is even more impressive is the progression Hooper has had each season. In year one he had 19 receptions for 271 yards and in year four has worked up to 75 receptions and 787 yards. Hooper has also doubled his touchdown production in four years from three in 2016 to six in 2019.

After two straight pro-bowl appearances, Hooper is set up well for a third in the Stefanski system utilizes the tight end heavily. With both Odell Beckham and Landry on the roster, it may be a stretch for 1,000 yards receiving but look for him to continue to improve his play. Hooper will be a safety valve for Mayfield all season and will be a huge part of the Brown’s success.
No. 3 – Odell Beckham Jr.
Star wide receiver Odell Beckham broke into the league with three straight seasons of 1,300 plus yards and 10 plus touchdowns, which earned him three pro-bowl appearances. His next three seasons have been bugged by injuries that have brought production down.
There is no doubt that Beckham has it in him, as he showed flashes last season of being the player he was the first three years of his career. After offseason abdomen surgery, the Browns are hopeful to keep Beckham healthy for an entire year. OBJ appears more motivated than ever to prove doubters wrong and has been a full participant in virtual offseason workouts.
After appearing out of sync with Mayfield much of last season, with a year under their belt together that will improve drastically. Beckham will have fewer targets in the Stefanski system but will have a higher catch rate and bigger plays from play action. If healthy this will be a season that Beckham proves haters wrong.
