No. 2 – Nick Chubb

The Browns drafted Nick Chubb in the second round of 2018 hoping that he could win the backup role to Carlos Hyde. After seeing long run after long run, Chubb stole Hyde’s starting spot in week eight and racked up 996 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie.

Although not utilized properly by head coach Freddie Kitchens in 2019, Chubb was at times the only offense the Browns had. The team was so predictable on run plays, yet Chubb still ran for the second-most yards in the league with 1,496. Had it not been for Derrick Henry going wild the last few weeks of the season, Chubb would have won the rushing title.

What is not to like about Chubb? He doesn’t worry about accolades; he wants to win football games. There won’t be many arguments that Chubb is the second-best player on the team currently and fans better enjoy him why they can. Running backs demand big contracts, and analytical teams don’t value the running back position. Right or wrong, enjoy Chubb these next two seasons as you won’t find a harder working young man.

No. 1 – Myles Garrett

The best news of this list, the top two players were drafted by the Browns. In fact, five of the ten players on this list were drafted by the Browns which shows the team is going in the right direction. No one has the team going in the right direction more than defensive end Myles Garrett. In just three seasons with the Browns Garrett has already totaled 30.5 sacks even with a substantial number of double teams.

Garrett was involved in an ugly incident last season that got him suspended the final six games of the year. Only two people know what happened on the field but look for Garrett to be motivated in his return next season.

Garrett isn’t just a great defensive end; he is a man that opposing teams must focus on.  Garrett was on pace for 16 sacks last season, and with a healthy Olivier Vernon on the opposite side, it could be possible for Garrett to accumulate even more next season. If the Browns start winning games, Garrett could be a dark horse defensive MVP award winner.
