Scouting Report. Louisville. 849. Pick Analysis. WR. ChatariusAtwell. 3. player

The Cleveland Browns wide receiver depth chart is top-heavy with Odell Beckham, Jr. and Jarvis Landry who each had 1,000-yards receiving during the 2019 season. However, behind them, they have only Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones that seem capable of playing as the third receiver — and they have their own concerns with Higgins being on a one-year deal and DPJ being rookie.

Cleveland would be wise to add more talent to the position and they do exactly that here as they take Louisville’s Chatarius Atwell with their first of two picks in the third round. When watching Atwell, the first thing that stands out is his stature. Listed at just 5-foot-9 and 156-pounds which is tiny for the NFL.

Having said that, this kid is a weapon. He can simply fly and was a star not only as a receiver but in motion and on jet sweeps. He led the ACC in yards and touchdowns last season as he had 69 catches for 1,272 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was also used sparingly in the return game but that’s something the Browns can consider doing more of should they land him in the draft.

Considering both OBJ and Landry are under 6-foot-tall, it would make sense that the Browns would want to add more height but Altwell’s ability to break a game open at any moment is too much to pass on. Should teams focus too much on their other threats in the passing game, this kid could make them pay.
