Offensive Guards

While the Browns have multiple stars on their team, some would argue the interior of their offensive line will be the strongest position on the team. After nearly leading Nick Chubb to a rushing title in 2019, look for this group to be hungrier than ever in 2020.

Joel Bitonio – Left Guard

Joel Bitonio is perhaps one of the most underappreciated players in the NFL. He’s strong, mean, and does his job on every single play. As a second-round draft pick for the Browns in 2014, Bitonio has started all but 17 games for the Browns since being picked.

Bitonio has been a pro-bowler for the last two seasons and will likely be voted all-pro if the Browns can find success in 2020. Look for nothing to change next season as Bitonio will be the glue that holds the entire offense together.

J.C. Tretter – Center

After coming from the Green Bay Packers in 2017, J.C. Tretter has been the starting center for the Browns in every single game for three straight seasons. Tretter has an above-average skill set, but his leadership and knowledge take him to the next level. Being elected as the NFL Players Association president just further solidifies how good of a guy Tretter is.

Like Bitonio, look for nothing to change in 2020. Tretter will show up every play and continue to be a dominant force up front opening holes for Chubb. His leadership with be crucial to help mentor rookies throughout the offensive meeting rooms.

Wyatt Teller – Right Guard

Perhaps the only contested position on the offensive line this offseason will be the fight at right guard. After winning the job last year and starting nine games, look for Wyatt Teller to once again win the job. Teller is an extremely athletic guard who fits the wide-zone scheme perfectly.  Callahan will have his hands full to fine-tune his pass blocking skills but will certainly be up to the task.
