Round 3, Pick 1: Joe Tryon, EDGE, Washington

Former general manager John Dorsey wanted to put two Pro Bowl-caliber edge rushers on the same line which is why he traded for Olivier Vernon. The problem is, Vernon and Myles Garrett didn’t get enough time together in 2019 with Vernon’s knee injury and Garrett’s six-game suspension.

Vernon agreed to a restructured deal which helped him stay in Cleveland following a frustrating campaign. Chances are, even with him lowering his pay in 2020, this will be his final season which is why the Browns add Joe Tryon in the third round of this mock.

Tryon is an athletic edge rusher with solid length at 6-foot-4 and 251-pounds. He needs to be more consistent and should he show he can accomplish that this coming season, he could move up draft boards next spring.

Round 3, Pick 2: Baron Browning, LB, Ohio State

With their second of two picks in the third round, the Browns add another defender in Ohio State’s Baron Browning. A 6-foot-3, 248-pound linebacker, Browning is an attacking linebacker who would find a role quickly with the Cleveland linebacker corps — which does leave a lot to be desired.

Browning has yet to really get a full season of starting snaps with players such as Malik Harrison keeping him off the field. This season, that will change which will only help raise the Buckeye defender’s stock.
