5 Cleveland Browns preseason stars who had us all fooled

Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi went from an unknown player to fan-favorite in the blink of an eye. And if we are being honest, he did so based on a lie.
Sheehy-Guiseppi was trying to live out his dream and in an act of desperation, he made his way to an NFL workout and said he was there due to his connection with Alonzo Highsmith, who was in the Cleveland front office at the time. Nick Shook of the Browns team website detailed the ruse that somehow actually worked.
"“Sheehy-Guiseppi found out Browns vice president of player personnel Alonzo Highsmith would be at the event scouting prospects, so he researched Highsmith to figure out what he looked like. Then he saw Highsmith, but only after he had to convince the man in charge of admission that he was supposed to be there, and that he and Highsmith were familiar.” “They were not.” — Shook, ClevelandBrowns.com"
Somehow, Sheehy-Guiseppi was able to get a tryout with the Browns — perhaps Highsmith liked the guts he showed in his ruse. And as fate would have it, the undrafted kid took his first touch in the preseason to the end zone.
In Week 1 of the 2019 preseason, Sheehy-Guiseppi took a punt back 86-yards against Washington for a touchdown. That had all of Browns nation ready to declare him the return specialist that season but sadly, he never made the roster.
After not making it with Cleveland, Sheehy-Guiseppi got a chance with the New York Guardians of the XFL. He was placed on injured reserve in January though and the Guardians released him two months later.
