3. Donovan Peoples-Jones will win WR3

Cleveland is top-heavy at receiver with both Odell Beckham, Jr. and Jarvis Landry crossing the 1,000-yard plateau in 2019. However, there wasn’t a whole lot beyond those two for fans to be too excited about.

Beyond Landry and OBJ, the top reception leaders for the Browns included running backs Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb followed by tight ends Demetrius Harris and Ricky Seals-Jones. It wasn’t until after those players until we saw another receiver on the leaderboard as Damion Ratley was eighth on the team with 12 catches.

This clearly wasn’t expected as they also had Rashard Higgins and Antonio Callaway when the season began but Higgins had four catches all season while hanging out in Freddie Kitchens’ doghouse and Callaway was released after playing just four games.

In 2020, Higgins is expected to be the third receiver thanks to Kitchens being gone but he still could have competition from players such as Ratley and KhaDarel Hodge. Or, he could even see rookie Donovan Peoples-Jones challenge him for the spot.

A sixth-round pick out of Michigan, DPJ is a very technically sound receiver who was a steal that late. Part of the reason for his slip in the draft was the sheer talent at the position this year. Another was the lack of involvement in a frustrating offense from the Wolverines.

Now with the Browns, Peoples-Jones has a great opportunity to earn snaps early and in this prediction, he makes the most out of that chance.
