Interior Offensive Lineman:

The Browns came into the 2020 season with as strong as an offensive line as any team in the NFL. General manager Andrew Berry added talent immediately by signing the best free-agent right tackle in Jack Conklin and then drafting Jedrick Wills at pick number 10 in the 2020 draft to play left tackle.

With the additions at tackle, the Browns are now able to use last year’s starting right tackle, Chris Hubbard, as the sixth man. Hubbard was a below-average starter but is a more than capable backup and will be a great addition.

The reason for needing more depth (mainly on the interior) is because of the loss of the right guard, Forbes. Wyatt Teller was always expected to win the starting job, but Forbes was another terrific backup in case of injuries. Don’t forget, center J.C. Tretter also went under the knife for a basic scoping that shouldn’t limit him in 2020 (but still must be top of mind).

Rookie center Nick Harris will get a ton of first-team repetitions in camp with Tretter out but will still be raw as the backup for all three interior positions next season. While the field is somewhat limited, the Browns should consider a free agent signing now, or see if any veterans are dropped before the season.

Josh Kline is the likeliest signing at this moment with his affiliation to Stefanski in Minnesota. However, Harris may be the next man up, and if no additional injuries occur, the Browns offensive line should be a major strength in 2020.
