Cleveland Browns crisp offense and other takeaways from their shortened practice Thursday

3. Team camaraderie
This team trusts each other and has a good relationship with one another. They want to win football games and are helping each other be the best they can be.
Any time a receiver drops a pass, Baker Mayfield walks over to them and pats them on the helmet and says some words to them to let them know he trusts them. This certainly builds confidence for receivers.
Rookie tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. has been asking defensive end Olivier Vernon for help on the line. He knows Vernon is a good, veteran player who can show his perspective on the opposite side of the line of scrimmage.
Vernon has been giving him advice on what to do in various situations and Wills has been absorbing the knowledge. It really is a great sign when a young player is asking for advice and trying to get better. OV is a great person to help Wills out and prepare for Week 1.
While these things seem small, they will go a long way to contribute towards success. When things go wrong during the season, the players will have each other to figure it out and win ball games.
Last year, when something went wrong it just kept getting worse. Tempers rose and players compounded mistakes on the field. When watching practice, it seems that the players respond to mistakes and then go make a play. That is a huge testament to the coaching staff and how they have instilled that into this team.
Yesterday was a solid practice and let’s hope the Browns continue to build off the offensive momentum.
