Cleveland Browns: 3 trade targets on Jaguars as they hold fire sale
By Cory Kinnan
DT Taven Bryan
Perhaps the most intriguing and realistic trade target for Cleveland who is currently on the roster of the Jaguars is 2018 NFL Draft first round pick Taven Bryan. The ceiling is still high on Bryan, entering just his third season in the league, and the Browns could certainly use the depth across their defensive front; besides, with still three years left on his rookie deal, this would be more than just a rental for Cleveland.
Let’s face it: Larry Ogunjobi is coming off of an abysmal 2019 season, and now entering the last year of his contract with the Browns. He is going to need a massive leap in 2020 in order to show he deserves a second contract in Cleveland. While Sheldon Richardson rebounded and played at a high level at the end of the 2019 season, he has an out after this year and the Browns may take it.
Andrew Billings, while he was signed this offseason, opted out of the 2020 season and will now see his one-year deal rollover to the 2021 season instead. This year and beyond, the Browns will need a talented defensive tackle to plug the middle of the defense, and if the Jaguars are holding a fire sale, Bryan would be a solid candidate.
Get the Jaguars on the phone and see what the asking price is for Bryan. If they can get him for a third round pick, then it would be well worth the price for the Browns.
