Cleveland Browns Roster Prediction: Reserve/Squad (2)

This year, the NFL is allowing teams to bring two players into game day from their practice squad. It’s a great thing since it will allow teams more flexibility while also giving players a chance to make it onto the field without having to be subjected to waivers afterward.

Solomon Ajayi, Linebacker, Elijah Benton, Safety

The younger brother of running back Jay Ajayi, Solomon Ajayi is another Liberty product who found his way to the Cleveland Browns roster. The younger Ajayi went the junior college route as he had to spend two seasons at Bakersfield College before getting his shot with Liberty.

Once there, he showed out. Ajayi had 73 tackles as a junior and 92 as a senior. He also had two picks and an interception in his career. He’s a bit slight at 220-pounds but that’s never slowed him down. He’s also fortunate to have landed in Cleveland, where they have a massive need at the position.

Cleveland also rolls with Elijah Benton in this prediction. Joe Woods defense will use several safeties in the 4-2-5 scheme, meaning they will likely bring an extra player into Week 1 and the guess is that Benton makes the cut.
