2. Sheldrick Redwine’s growth

The Browns were hoping to be set at safety with their three offseason additions — Grant Delpit, Karl Joseph, and Andrew Sendejo. However, a wrench was thrown into their plans when Delpit tore his Achilles and Joseph has yet to be at 100 percent following offseason surgery.

For those reasons, Cleveland went out and added Ronnie Harrison in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars but they could get more help on their roster from a somewhat forgotten player.

Sheldrick Redwine was a fourth-round pick in 2019 and played well for a rookie but understood he needed to improve in the offseason. He said as much when speaking with David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, as Redwine stressed being prepared for the NFL game.

"“In college, I didn’t really understand the importance of taking care of your body. In the NFL, every day you see the top players. I’m looking at Jarvis [Landry], Odell [Beckham Jr.] constantly in the training room, getting their bodies worked on. Going to their house, they’re going home and they’re getting more work done.” — Redwine, via Furones, South Florida Sun Sentinal"

So far during the team’s practices, Redwine’s work is showing up. He’s been making several big plays and has stood out as one of the more improved players on this defense.

Even with Harrison added, the Browns should have room for Redwine and he’s making it hard to keep him off the field.
