5 Players Cleveland Browns should claim on waivers

2. Anthony Rush, Defensive Tackle
As already mentioned, the Cleveland Browns have ties to the Philadelphia Eagles thanks to Andrew Berry spending the 2019 campaign with them. Since he was there last season, he was part of the front office that brought in Anthony Rush as a rookie.
A big nose tackle, the 350-pound Rush was an undrafted free agent out of UAB and while he had just nine tackles on the season, he was praised for his solid play as a run defender.
Rush also happens to play a position of need for Cleveland. After releasing Chad Thomas, Daniel Ekuale, Ricky Walker, and Robert McCray they now have only eight players on the defensive line — and are really thin when it comes to the nose tackle position.
Cleveland had hoped to have remedied this problem when they signed Andrew Billings from the Cincinnati Bengals but he elected to opt-out of the season due to COVID-19 concerns. With him out, Larry Ogunjobi will again man this role and we all saw last season that he struggled when it came to slowing down the run.
Landing a player such as Rush would be a wise move as it would give them a young run-stuffing defensive tackle to play in their rotation.
