5 keys to a Cleveland Browns upset over Baltimore
By Clay Goodwin
2. Successful run game
The Cleveland Browns have the best backfield duo in the entire NFL with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Chubb was second in the league in rushing last season with 1,494 yards on 298 carries. Hunt led the league in rushing his rookie season just three years ago with 1,327 yards on 272 carries.
Hunt is also an incredibly talented pass-catcher. He can catch passes out of the backfield or also lined up in the slot. He has increased his receiving yards per game every season in the league. Hunt is a unique weapon that defenses must account for.
With Hunt back for an entire season – he missed eight games last year due to suspension – the Browns look forward to using both backs together and individually throughout the year. With two new offensive tackles as well, Cleveland should be an even better running team.
If the Browns can wear down the Raven defense and control the clock, their chances of winning grow significantly. Stefanski’s system is run-first and then opens up the play-action game. The offense’s success starts with the run game.
Look for the Browns to rush for over 150 yards total and chew the clock in order to upset the Baltimore Ravens in week one.
