4. Tavierre Thomas

Tavierre Thomas played significantly more Sunday than he was expected to, and did some good things during those snaps. Yes, he was beaten for a touchdown that Willie Snead caught, but that wasn’t entirely on him as there was some obvious miscommunication in the Browns secondary on that play.

Throughout the game, Tavierre Thomas was credited with four tackles, three of which were solo tackles, a tackle for loss, and the Cleveland Browns first sack of the season. If you could’ve predicted that of all people Tavierre Thomas would’ve had the Browns first sack, then you should buy a lottery ticket.

When watching the film on the sack that Thomas got, he was pretty slick with how he got into the backfield, and it was exciting to see him get some solid snaps on defense, even if it was due to injuries. Thomas is mostly a special teams player, a role that he played great in again today.

Thomas was able to nail down a punt at the one-yard line, forcing the Ravens to have to drive 99 yards to score. Which they ended up doing, but that wasn’t Thomas’ fault. Thomas is the only defensive player for the Browns to make this list. Hopefully next week we will have a lot more defenders to put here.
