Cleveland Browns studs and duds from huge Week 4 win
By Randy Gurzi
Stud: Browns running game
His first run of the game was a big one as Nick Chubb continued to churn the yardage with ease. He was already at 5.7 yards per game entering Week 4 and kept his legs moving — and that 21-yard run on their first play of the game was a great example of him doing just that. Unfortunately, Chubb finished with just six rushing attempts (for 43 yards) before going down with an injury. But even with him out, the Browns running game continued to shine.
Kareem Hunt filled in and the Browns didn’t miss a beat. He moved the ball inside the one-yard line which set up a touchdown pass to Austin Hooper and then he ran it in himself later in the first half, giving Cleveland a 28-14 lead.
Hunt finished with 71 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns. But what was crazy, is that he was only third on the team in yards on the ground. Above him was Odell Beckham, Jr. who had 73 yards on two rushes — including his 50-yard game-sealing touchdown and D’Ernest Johnson who had a career game with 95 yards on 13 rushes.
Cleveland understood the running attack was how they would win this game and they went overboard in that department with an unbelievable 307 yards and three touchdowns on 40 rushes.
This team will be impossible to beat if they continue to run like this. And that’s exactly what Kevin Stefanski wants to do.
