Cleveland Browns: 5 Bold predictions for Week 6 vs. Steelers
By Randy Gurzi
2. Baker has no turnovers
Week 5 was a tale of two halves for Baker Mayfield. He was automatic in the first half, picking apart the Indianapolis defense with ease while throwing two touchdown passes. The first was an absolute laser to running back Kareem Hunt from two-yards out and the second was a 15-yarder to Rashard Higgins.
Then in the second half, Mayfield struggled. He was high on several passes and had two interceptions — although one was a result of him being hammered when he was throwing. In all, he had 247 yards with a 2-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ration on the day while completing 21-of-37 passes. It was a good overall performance but the picks ended a two-game streak in which he had no passes intercepted.
The silver lining though, was that he knew he could be better. Rather than gloating on the win, Mayfield was matter of fact in the postgame, saying the 4-1 mark is good but that he needs to be better. With the stakes even higher in Week 6, this bold prediction is that he does play better.
Cleveland will need Mayfield to not only be at his best, but they simply cannot afford a turnover. He delivers that for them with a game that sees him not only refrain from throwing an interception, but he has no lost fumbles either.
