Cleveland Browns: Three bold predictions for Baker Mayfield in Week 6
No. 1: Mayfield leads the Browns on a game-winning drive
One of the most frustrating things Cleveland fans have had to deal with over the past 15 years or so is the way Ben Roethlisberger has manhandled them since joining the Steelers in 2004. The veteran quarterback is now 23-2-1 against the Browns, which is just a sickening stat to see.
While Baker Mayfield can’t go back in time and erase all the losses that took place before he got here, he can help the Browns finish strong as Roethlisberger’s career begins to wind down.
So far, Mayfield is 0-1 against Roethlisberger as he was on the bench for their tie in 2018. Then in 2019 when the Browns went 1-1 against the Steelers, it was Mason Rudolph who was under center for the bad guys in gold and black.
Sunday will be a fun one since we finally will see Mayfield with a coach who understands how to get the best out of him going up against a healthy Big Ben. And this bold prediction is that the Cleveland fans will be the ones walking away from this bout with the big smile we have No. 6 leading the Browns on a game-winning drive against the Steelers.
Without trying to get too hyperbolic, this could end up being a huge signature win for Mayfield as well as the team. It would signify that he belongs as the starter while also finally giving the team a win that no one can throw shade at.
