1. Mayfield will redeem himself

There’s no denying Baker Mayfield struggled in Week 6. The Browns starting quarterback had a pick-six on his first throw of the game as he didn’t see Minkah Fitzpatrick sitting on the pass and that ended with him watching the safety run it 33 yards for the score.

From there, things didn’t get a whole lot better for Mayfield. He threw another pick later in the half and while he did throw a touchdown to Rashard Higgins, the Browns offense looked off all day.

In the end, head coach Kevin Stefanski elected to bench Mayfield as he had seen him take enough of a beating. That made sense as the Steelers were relentlessly hitting Mayfield and he was in clear pain with his ribs still ailing him following a hit he took from Justin Houston the week prior.

While Stefanski made the move as a way of protecting Mayfield, it still will lead to some questions. In fact, it already did as Stefanski had to remind everyone after the game that Mayfield is the starter. The fact that his play led to such a question won’t sit well with Mayfield, who is the ultimate competitor.

This final bold prediction is that Mayfield will redeem himself in a big way. Not only will he lead the Browns to their fifth win, but he will also refrain from throwing any touchdowns while also having a season-high by tossing more than 250-yards.
