Cleveland Browns bolster secondary in 2021 NFL mock draft at Week 12

Jevon Holland opted out of the 2020 campaign, and that’s because there really wasn’t anything left for him to prove. He was one of college football’s very best defensive backs over the past two seasons because of his instincts and quick diagnosis skills. Holland is incredibly smart, and while he may not have great athletic traits, that hasn’t stopped him from finding success no matter where he’s lined up; in the box, in the slot, or back deep.
He’s the kind of versatile player that defensive Joe Woods would absolutely love. The Browns need a third safety to go with Grant Delpit and Ronnie Harrison, and Holland would do the trick.
Cleveland was looking to replace Olivier Vernon this offseason, making multiple offers to Jadeveon Clowney. It’s entirely possible they go after a veteran to pair with Myles Garrett, such as Clowney or Trey Hendrickson. In that case, it would be wise to add young depth, and that’s where Joe Tryon comes in. Another 2020 opt-out, the 6-5, 262-pounder logged nine sacks in 2019 and displays excellent athletic traits. At worst, he’s a good rotational rusher. At best, he allows you to move on from the vet early.
Hamsah Nasrildeen had an excellent season for the Seminoles in 2019 before he suffered a torn ACL late in the year. That injury kept him off the field until Week 11 of this season, and that’s the biggest question mark for his stock. He stands 6-4 and 220 pounds with fantastic versatility. He’s primarily a box player, but has played a lot of snaps at free safety. He’d fit into the Cleveland defense as a moneybacker or big nickel, which is a requirement in Woods’ base dime utopia.
