Cleveland Browns: 3 matchups to decide the game vs. Ravens

Matchup No. 2: Myles Garrett vs Orlando Brown Jr.

Rushing Lamar Jackson takes a total defensive team effort, but at the end of the day, it all begins and ends with Myles Garrett. Garrett’s game wrecking potential is simply too great to ignore for both the Browns and whatever team has to game plan for him. This week the tackle that will draw the unenviable straw to line up across from Garrett is Orlando Brown Jr.

Brown is listed at 6-foot-8 and 350 plus pounds, and will still be outmatched by Garrett in both physicality and athleticism. The Ravens will use tight ends and running backs to help Brown attempt to slow down Garrett. But it will be up to Garrett to make the Ravens pay when they choose to let Brown go one on one with him.

Hurrying Jackson will not be enough, as he is at his most dangerous when plays break down, so Garrett will have to play under control and be mindful of creating too much space for Jackson to flee the scene. It will take a measured and calculated approach by Garrett to truly affect Jackson on Monday night.

However, if Garrett is able to tilt the field by drawing double teams, it will provide an opportunity for Joe Woods to experiment with sending different combinations of blitzers to confuse Jackson and force him to make mistakes. Also, Garrett beating Brown around the corner for a good old fashion strip-sack would be pretty cool too.
