The Cleveland Browns win a stress-free game
By Greg Newland
Cleveland Browns finally gave their fans a week off
The Cleveland Browns are 10-4 and are a win away from ending a playoff drought since the 2002 season. While this is all tremendous news, the best thing for Browns fans was a stress-free Sunday Night Football victory. Although they were down 3-0 early, the offense looked in sync all night, and once the Browns took a 7-3 lead, it never felt like the New York Giants had a chance.
This is another huge step for this Brown’s team as they continue to learn through the season.
The first thing this team accomplished was learning how to win a close game. Previously games like the Cowboys, Texans, and Jaguars would have been ones the organization would have found a way to lose. Instead, the new Browns were 3-0. The only single score game the Browns lost this season was last week vs. the Ravens where the Browns made a miraculous comeback.
The step last night was getting a big lead, and not letting the team back in the game. The defense gave up some yards, but once the Giants hit the red zone they tightened up and made things difficult for backup quarterback Colt McCoy. Just two weeks ago the Browns had a huge lead at halftime vs. the Tennessee Titans and ended up winning the game by only six points.
The bottom line, Kevin Stefanski is changing the organization’s culture right in front of our eyes. Browns fans are broken from the last 20 years of failure, but in just 14 games he has given the entire fan base hope. Look for this team to have another easy win against the Jets.
