4. Baker Mayfield, QB

If someone told you at this time last season that Baker Mayfield would be deserving of a Pro Bowl selection, would you have believed them? And frankly, Pro Bowl-caliber is understating just how good he’s been since Week 6. It’s hard to play much better than he has over that span, and he makes the Browns more than just wild card contenders.

Even after going three straight games without a touchdown pass thanks to the lovely Cleveland weather, Mayfield is at 25 touchdowns and just eight interceptions this season.

It’s nothing short of incredible how far he’s come since Week 1, when the entire team was pounded by the Ravens. Rookie head coach, brand-new offense, zoom offseason, and many other factors contributed to that, and it was always going to take time for Mayfield and company to gel, but no one expected him to play this well.

He never showed this type of ceiling over his first two seasons, and now, when replacements were being discussed just a few weeks ago, now the conversation has turned to extension timing. Mayfield has more than proven himself as a franchise QB, but his first (true) Pro Bowl selection will have to wait another season.
