Cleveland Browns land shutdown corner in 2021 NFL mock draft at Week 17

Note: Washington’s Zion Tupuola-Fetui was originally the pick at this spot, but this writer is a clown, and Tupuola-Fetui announced he is returning to school just hours after this pick was made.
Olivier Vernon has been fantastic over the second half of the season, and the Browns should do everything they can to keep him, at a reasonable price. Whether that happens or not, Cleveland still needs to invest in an EDGE at some point over the first two days of the draft.
The Nittany Lions may have been terrible this season, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have some pretty good draft prospects. Jayson Oweh has folk tale athleticism that is evident on tape; his 6-5 250-pound frame carries the burst and agility of a player 50 pounds lighter.
Heading into the season, he was getting potential top-15 hype contingent on him having a big 2020, but that wasn’t quite the case. He registered zero sacks in seven games, which was certainly disappointing. However, he was still able to generate pressure at a good rate, and played the run very well.
Oweh has truly rare physical traits, and with his solid pressure rate, you feel good about betting on those traits at this point in the draft, especially if you can let him play in a rotational role right away. If Oweh can reach his potential, defenses might as well give up trying to block both him and Myles Garrett.
