1. Wide receivers reintroduce themselves

The final thing that the Cleveland Browns must do to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers is for the wide receivers to reintroduce themselves. We saw just how lost the Browns offense looked last week against the Jets with their entire receiving core missing the game.

It highlighted even if the Browns are arguably the most run dominant offense in the league, the threat of a passing game is still crucial to the success of the offense.

It’s likely that the receivers that missed last week due to COVID restrictions will be returning against the Steelers for the most important game of the season where they will desperately be needed.

Pittsburgh’s defense is one of the best in the NFL against the pass. They only give up 196.3 passing yards per game which are the second-best in the entire league. Along with this, the Steelers lead the NFL in forced interceptions.

With the secondary of the Steelers being one of the most lethal in the league, it will be on the wide receivers to reintroduce themselves to the world. This will make Mayfield’s job under center as easy as they can.

The receiving core was a nonfactor against the Steelers in the first matchup. Even with Odell Beckham Jr. in the lineup, wide receivers only made up for 78 of the Browns 165 passing yards. Along with this, the Browns did not have a single receiver that even had 50 yards or more.

The Browns will desperately need their receivers to reintroduce themselves to the world and have a huge bounce-back week against the Steelers this week if they want to bring home a victory.
