Cody Parkey, K

After making the Pro Bowl his rookie year, Cody Parkey has had a rough NFL career. Statistically, he hasn’t been terrible, he definitely deserves to be a kicker somewhere on paper. However, he has missed some of the biggest kicks of his career and is infamous for hitting the goalposts. This is Parkey’s second stretch in Cleveland, and the first one only lasted a season.

Many fans are calling for Parkey’s head, frustrated with him missing some of the biggest kicks he has attempted this season. However, he has been decent as a member of the Browns. The franchise should probably re-sign him to a one or two year deal, but definitely bring in some competition for him in the upcoming training camp.

B.J. Goodson, LB

The Cleveland Browns are B.J. Goodson’s third team in as many seasons, and he has found himself in a starting position on every team. Goodson has been the Browns second best linebacker, only behind Malcolm Smith. While the Browns definitely need to look elsewhere to improve this position, he should be given the opportunity to return to Cleveland on a similar contract, but this time in a backup role.

However, the Browns have three recent draft picks invested in the position could make it harder to keep Goodson. Jacob Phillips, Sione Takitaki, and Mack Wilson were all drafted by the Browns and would have some dead cap associated with letting them go, so saving the cap space could be worth the difference in performance.
