Tavierre Thomas, CB

I wear two hats in this fan base, as I am also the self-proclaimed leader of the Tavierre Thomas hive. Tavierre Thomas has been an excellent special teams ace over his tenure in Cleveland and has recently seen an uptick in defensive snaps this season. Every great team has an excellent special teams ace, and Thomas is that for the Cleveland Browns.

He plays on pretty much every special teams unit besides field goal and has been excellent in every phase. It’s hard to find a player who can play any special teams position on any unit, but Thomas is one of those rare guys that can excel wherever he is playing. He has also proven his value as a defensive asset and has seen an exponential increase in his snap count on defense.

While his statistics aren’t great, he has been a secure tackler all season and will likely improve in coverage with the more reps he gets. Thomas isn’t going to be a  solid starting cornerback for the Cleveland Browns any time soon, and the team doesn’t need him to be.

However, he is a great depth piece and players like him are what makes teams great. He was a pro bowl snub this season as a special teams player, and the fan base should try harder next season to vote him in.
