2. Week 13 at Tennessee Titans

The build-up to this game was something else. The Titans had embarrassed the Browns in Cleveland to open the 2019 season, and were rolling at 8-3 behind Derrick Henry, who had totaled 414 rushing yards over the previous three games. The Browns had just beaten the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars by two points in Jacksonville, and many were complaining about that margin of victory. Few gave Cleveland much of a chance in this game.

So naturally, the Browns came out and entered halftime up 38-7. The final score of 41-35 makes the game seem like a shootout, but in reality, Cleveland took its foot off the gas pedal early in the second half and was still up by 20 points with less than 90 seconds to go.

Mayfield played a near-flawless game, throwing for four touchdowns in that dominant first half. Henry was held to just 60 rushing yards, his second-worst output of the season. This game showed that the Browns could trade punches with just about any team, including one that many thought was an awful matchup for them.

This win sent a message that the Browns were in no way a fake playoff team.
