2. Week 15 at New York Giants

Still in control of a wild card playoff spot, the Browns needed to beat the Giants to stay ahead of the other good teams in the AFC, and they took care of business, winning easily by a final score of 20-14. Mayfield was almost perfect, missing on just one of his 32 attempts. His other four incompletions were comprised of drops, throwaways, and batted passes. He ended the game with 297 yards and two touchdowns, the second of which was a perfectly-placed throw to Jarvis Landry in the back of the end zone.

The Giants were missing star cornerback James Bradberry, which made Mayfield’s job easier, but the tight-window throws he made would have been complete no matter who was in coverage. He was under pressure on just eight dropbacks, and handled the Giants interior defensive line well when they did affect plays.

It may not have been against a terrifying pass rush or a tight coverage secondary, but Mayfield played a truly great game from start to finish. It was one of the best displays of pinpoint accuracy by any QB over the past few seasons, and that matters more than who it came against.
