Backward hat kind of guy

Cowherd also returned to his backward hat shtick on Friday, criticizing Mayfield’s fashion decision, saying “That just says playoff loss, doesn’t it?” in regards to a screenshot of Mayfield answering questions from the media.

The pundit bolstered his argument by saying that the only other NFL quarterback to wear a hat backward this season is Carson Wentz, whose season went downhill faster than new COVID-19 placements in Cleveland.

The backward hat joke is pretty funny, and it’s hard to believe even Cowherd takes himself seriously regarding it. It’s entirely possible that Mayfield knew he’d get a reaction from Cowherd by wearing his hat in a certain way, as the third-year signal-caller has manipulated the media quite well this season, while not drawing any extra attention to himself or the team. The backward hat thing goes back years, and Cowherd has always had an issue with Mayfield, no matter the situation.

Mayfield could win the next 10 Super Bowls by himself and Cowherd would still find something to trash him for.

It’d be great to see the Browns pull off the win this week, because that would finally force Cowherd to shut up and admit defeat, right?

Next. Steelers blatantly break COVID-19 protocols. dark

Of course not. He’ll just move the goalposts like he always does.
