2. Baker will control the clock

While it is fun to see 60-yard bombs and big plays from an offense, that won’t necessarily win the Browns their second playoff game in the 2020 season. The key will be to have long, succinct drives, that chew up a lot of game clock.

There’s nothing more demoralizing to defense then back to back touchdown drives with 12 plus plays and taking over seven minutes per drive. Browns fans are well aware of this after much of this season.

While chewing the clock will involve a heavy run game with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, the most important part this week will be quick and efficient throws from Mayfield. These will be 5-6-yard routes to keep the chains moving and keep the Chief’s offense on the field.

Remember last Sunday Night, the ferocious Steelers pass-rush never had a chance to be a factor because of how quickly Mayfield got rid of the ball. Mayfield will likely have 35-40 attempts with this strategy, and he will complete 70 percent of these passes. His high efficiency will keep the Browns scoring early and often, and slowly wear down the Chiefs defense.

With Mayfield controlling the clock so well, it will just take one-stop and a big turnover by the defense for the Browns to have a shot at pulling another upset.
