3 Cleveland Browns who won’t be back in 2021

2. KhaDarel Hodge, Wide Receiver
There are flashes of brilliance with KhaDarel Hodge but also times where he completely disappears. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound wideout was undrafted out of Prairie View A&M in 2018 where he was signed by the Los Angeles Rams. After recording two receptions for 17 yards as a rookie, he was picked up by the Cleveland Browns where he spent the past two seasons.
That year, he finished with 76 yards on four catches and then improved in 2020 with 11 receptions for 180 yards. In all, he has 256 yards for the Browns while averaging 17.1 yards per reception. His speed was on display but consistency was never his thing.
Hodge also struggled to stay on the field this season, appearing in just nine games for the Browns. While he does offer two things this offense desperately needs more of — size and speed — it doesn’t appear he will be back.
Cleveland will surely want to retain fellow free-agent Rashard Higgins and they will likely look to free agency or the draft for a player to replace Hodge as a deep threat. He was one of those players we always wanted to see succeed but for some reason, it just never came together. Hopefully, that can happen for him at his next stop.
