5. Marvin Jones Jr., WR

Let’s start realistically first.

Kenny Golladay will be the big-name receiver from the Detroit Lions looking for a big payday this offseason. Detroit will not be as hard-pressed to re-sign Jones, who will turn 31 before the opening of the 2021 season.

Despite plenty of trade rumors ahead of November’s trade deadline, Jones was not delt and finished the regular season in Detroit.

With question marks regarding the future of Rashard Higgins and KhaDarel Hodge, who will need new contracts, the Browns are going to be in the market for an additional weapon to pair with Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.

Jones would be a simple, yet inexpensive patch.

This season, Jones finished with nearly 1,000 yards receiving with 978 yards on 76 receptions. He added nine touchdowns as well.

Cleveland’s offense was lacking the speed that could take the top of a defense all season long. The only passing play that was over 43 yards was Donovan Peoples-Jones’s 75-yard touchdown grab against the Tennessee Titans. Jones brings 4.4 speed to an offensive system that depends on tight end production in the shorter-field. The Browns claimed his Detroit counterpart Marvin Hall off of waivers earlier this season, but he did not properly gel in enough time for the playoffs.

Pairing Mayfield with Jones is a realistic free agency acquisition that would help Beckham and Landry without breaking the bank.
