5. Shi Smith, WR, South Carolina

That’s right, an offensive player that could bring a new dimension to the Browns offense in 2020. Shi Smith is already making a name for himself in Mobile, AL this week for having a diving catch that would remind you of Odell Beckham, Jr.

Shi Smith has the speed to beat wide receivers deep and really take the top off a defense, as they like to say. His speed at the receiver position is what nobody else on the Browns roster can bring.

If opposing defenses have to worry about Smith beating them deep, it will only open up more of the field for intermediate playmakers like Jarvis Landry and all the Browns talented tight ends.

Smith put up 633 yards with an 11-yard average in the SEC last year with mediocre quarterback play. He was one of the bright spots on an pretty bad South Carolina team.

Speed is something you’ll hear all offseason with Browns and Smith has a lot of it. It’s something the Browns had to work without when Odell Beckham Jr. went down against the Bengals.

If Beckham Jr. comes back healthy, he along with Jarvis Landry and Shi Smith could be quite the trio. Smith would be a physical upgrade if the Browns were to move on from Rashard Higgins.
