Miami Dolphins – Davon Godchaux, DL

This was not a pretty pick at all, in fact, it was quite a rough one. The pickings were very slim for the Dolphins, this was a situation where it was “quantity over quality.” The Dolphins have 18 impending free agents, and I really don’t think a single one of them would be a starter on the Browns.

Outside of Ryan Fitzpatrick, the best available player is probably interior defensive lineman Davon Godchaux. Godchaux would fit perfectly with what the Browns are trying to do on the defensive side of the ball, relentless pressure. Adding the former fifth-rounder from LSU to the group of Myles Garrett, Sheldon Richardson, Adrian Clayborn, Jordan Elliott, and Porter Gustin would make the defensive rotation even deeper and allow for there to always be a fresh man on the field.

Godchaux had a productive career in Miami, his best year coming in Brian Flores’s first season with the team, and a change of scenery could be good for him. Don’t expect the same production from him though, Joe Woods is nowhere near the caliber of Flores, but expect for him to make an impact in the times that we do see him on the field.
